Support for International Students

Campbell College provides international students with access to academic, personal, career and community support throughout their studies.

Orientation and settling in Edmonton

International student orientation includes information about:

  • Campbell College’s campus, policies and staff.
  • Program schedules and academic expectations.
  • Maintaining enrolment and attendance.
  • Health insurance and accessing medical care.
  • Personal safety and emergency services.
  • Public transportation and community services.
  • Renting accommodation and understanding leases.
  • Banking, mobile services and everyday life in Edmonton.
  • Immigration information boundaries and authorized referral services.
Accommodation information

Campbell College does not guarantee or directly provide student housing unless this is expressly confirmed in writing.

Staff can provide general information about:

  • Searching for rental accommodation.
  • Questions to ask a landlord.
  • Understanding lease agreements and deposits.
  • Tenant rights and responsibilities.
  • Transportation between the accommodation and campus.
  • Community agencies that assist with housing concerns.

Students are responsible for reviewing and entering into their own rental agreements. Campbell College does not inspect, approve or guarantee private accommodation.

Academic support

Students can request assistance with:

  • Understanding course and program requirements.
  • Attendance and academic progress.
  • Study planning and time management.
  • Accessing instructors and learning resources.
  • Academic accommodations and accessibility referrals.
  • Addressing academic concerns through the appropriate college process.
Personal, health and community referrals

Campbell College staff are not medical or mental-health practitioners. When a student needs specialized assistance, staff can provide confidential referrals to appropriate health, counselling, settlement, financial, housing or social-service providers.

Alberta requires institutions to provide these supports directly or be able to refer students to appropriate community services. Government of Alberta guidance.

Career support

International students can access the same career-development services available to other eligible Campbell College students, including:

  • Résumé and cover-letter assistance .
  • Interview preparation.
  • Job-search guidance.
  • Workplace-readiness support.
  • Practicum or work-placement preparation where applicable to the program.
  • Referrals to employment resources.

Career services do not guarantee a practicum placement, job offer, work permit, immigration outcome or permanent residence.

Concerns and complaints

International students may raise concerns without fear of retaliation. Students should consult Campbell College’s:

  • Student complaint and dispute-resolution process.
  • Academic appeal process.
  • Harassment and discrimination policy.
  • Privacy and student-records policy.
  • Tuition and refund policy.
