Overview

The Administrative Professional Diploma program develops administrative and bookkeeping skills to provide the skills needed to manage an office in a fast-paced environment. The first year of the program focuses on working efficiently in an office environment through the employment of current technology and software. The second year focuses on working effectively with your office team and gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to complete the bookkeeping functions required in a business setting. A 3-week practicum after year 1 and a 3-week practicum after year 2 allow students to apply their knowledge working for a local business while gaining valuable on-the-job training and experience for their resume.

Campbell College and Portage College Continuing Education are excited to work together to deliver Portage programs in Edmonton, Alberta. With this, students can complete an exceptional and practical non-credit certification program with excellent career opportunities.

The intention of this non-credit Continuing Education programming is to allow graduates to be eligible to apply for their Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP). The intention is not to have this programming transfer credit to other Post-Secondary Institutions. However, there may be opportunities to apply for prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR) with other Post-Secondary Institutions.

Entrance Requirements

Please ensure requirements are followed as mentioned. Applications will not be processed unless students meet these requirements.

Completion of one of the following is mandatory for admission and considered equivalent to Secondary School Graduation in Canada:

  • All India Senior School Certificate awarded by Central Board of Secondary education (CBSE) after 12 years.
  • Indian School Certificate (awarded by CICSE) after 12 years.
  • Higher Secondary Certificate awarded on Completion of Standard XII (12) senior secondary (12th Class) – the HSC/Intermediate and PUC (pre-university certificate) Certificates is known as Class 12th certificate also known as +2 Certificate which is awarded for Senior high school students by almost all State Boards.

PLUS:

  • English in grade 12: 50% from one of the above Indian Education Boards
  • Mathematics in grade 10: 60% from one of the above Indian Education Boards

English Language Proficiency Scores:

  • IELTS: 6.0 in each band. Overall, 6.0.
  • DUOLINGO: 105 or higher.
  • PTE: 54 or higher
  • TOEFL: Paper Based 550, Internet Based 79
